ナイスコーポレーションは国内外のメゾン、アパレルブランドが求めるデニムを形にしてきた縫製工場です。世界的なデニムの生産地として知られる岡山県倉敷市児島に拠点を構え、ものづくりを続けてきました。
時代とともに、縫製工場に求められるスタイル、フォルム、仕上げなどはめまぐるしく変化し、近年では環境配慮などへの対応も求められるようになりました。そうした背景から、これまで以上に社会的価値の創造がものづくりの現場でも求められています。
いま私たちがデニムパンツを作るなら。そして、お客さまに直接届けることができるなら。これまでに培ってきた知識、経験、技術と向き合うデニムのかたち、そして流通のあり方まで目を向け、デニムを新しい形で届けることにしました。
まずは無数のデニムが織りなしてきた歴史を踏まえ、私たちが考えるベーシックな形を提案します。本来廃棄するはずだった自社の裁断くずから生まれた再生繊維を用いたデニム生地を使い、縫製工場だからこそ受注生産制の採用で適切な製造量を実現します。また残反を用いたライフスタイルプロダクツに取り組むことで、持続可能性あるものづくりにも目を向けます。
私たちの新しい挑戦の名は、社名を引用した「NC PRODUCTS」。これは私たちの名刺であり、プレゼンテーションであり、思想を示す新しいプロダクトブランドです。
Nice Corporation is a sewing factory that creates denim pieces for ready-to-wear and high-end brands from across the globe. Based in Kojima, a region in Okayama known for its state-of-the-art denim production, Nice Corporation has dedicated itself to this craft for years.
Over the years, sewing factories have seen a drastic change in the styles, forms, and finishing required by our clients. Additionally, in recent years we have had to shift our practice to make room for environmental considerations. With this, the need for socially conscious manufacturing has never been greater.
What does the denim production of today need from us? And what if we could hand our products to our customers directly? With a renewed focus on product distribution and our past experiences, knowledge, and technology, we’re embarking on a new approach to denim production.
This approach consists of two parts. First is our idea of a “basic denim silhouette” rooted in our history of weaving a vast range of denim designs. By tapping into our experience as a sewing factory, we can realize a made-to-order production line and use denim fabrics made of recycled fiber from our own denim scrap pile. On top of this, we’re using our leftover fabrics to design sustainable lifestyle products that will stand the test of time.
Our new project, “NC PRODUCTS,” is an ode to our company name. NC PRODUCTS is our brand, business card, presentation, and portrayal of our philosophy.
